How do you define yourself, your place, your state if mind itself
Is it with the clothes you wear, the crew your hanging with, your hair
Do not get me wrong I'm only sending out vibrations in the air
It's just a bunch of thoughts, bouncing out from here to there

I'm just trying to define myself by who I am
By the love I show my kids and how I treat my fellow man
I can't be stereotyped, is that so fucking hard to understand
Like a hippy in a hotrod or an honest politician

We've got all the ingredients we need
We just don't seem to have the recipe

So you ask me how's it going,
Well I'm feeling pretty strange to tell you the truth, if that's any use
Cos I can't be defined by my substance abuse
Or the clothes on my back, or the sign on my shoes

And it can make for a lot of confusion
And just a little disillusionment
As to who I'm s'posed to be and how my money should be spent
Feed myself and pay the rent

I'm just trying to define myself by who I am
