I could have sworn I heard a tune Coming from the river's edge And blowing 'cross them old sand dunes Beneath the shifting rhythms of the moon I could have sworn the voice was yours Black feathers falling from the sky I should have known the choice was yours Just as I know the choice us mine Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly my way Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly today Do not fear the lake my love Fear not the devils hand I'll re-arrange the stones for you Down upon the shifting desert sands Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly my way Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly today I could have sworn I heard a tune Coming from the river's edge And blowing 'cross them old sand dunes Beneath the shifting rhythms of the moon Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly my way Strange bird, fly away Song bird, fly today

This town gives me a chill Black tar smoothed over aging cobbled streets Dark and defiant, but full of love Buzzing with the cold intensity of electric light I love the fear of life Awake at the crash site But never asleep at the wheel The beauty of pain in the learning to feel This land reminds me of us Pretty lights on the edge of an ancient sea Turning away from an inland drought Living in fear of what we could be I love the fear of life Awake at the crash site But never asleep at the wheel The beauty of pain in the learning to feel I love the fear of life Awake at the crash site Only passing through you ask me Am I heading up or down But I'm not buying Cos I'm not afraid of dying I love the fear of life Awake at the crash site But never asleep at the wheel The beauty of pain in the learning to feel

Down in a hole's where I find my friends Safe from the place where the journey ends Safe in the dark where I give my love for free Down by the field where the grass has died Looking around for signs of life Dance with the prison guard on the morning light Close your eyes To signs of life Dim the lights Say goodbye Gather around in the fire light Away from the shimmering neon signs We're burning a holy sacrifice to the endless night Close your eyes To signs of life Dim the lights Say goodbye Setting sun upon a frozen world We all dig our holes and take our turns To find the lights have gone (x 2) Down in a hole's where I find my friends Safe from the place where the journey ends Safe in the dark where I give my love for free Down by the field where the grass has died Looking around for signs of life Dance with the prison guard on the morning light Setting sun upon a frozen world We all dig our holes and take our turns To find the lights have gone (x 2) Close your eyes To signs of life Dim the lights Say goodbye

It hasn't been an easy ride Swimming back from paradise I brought you back a souvenir To mark the passing of the years What ever they say I hope you know this is true I would walk in the deep dark woods for you It hasn't always been this way But I'm the one you need today All the things we've said an done I live with baby, every one What ever they say I hope you know this is true I would walk in the deep dark woods for you (x 2)

So Beautiful 05:01
When I was just a young stray dog I saw you sitting one the stairs You told me with your sweet, sweet lips That you would spend the night with me When I was lying in a poison lake You told me you would swim with me When I lied and broke your heart You told me still your love could set us free And as I watch you sleeping now My soul is full of gratitude Gratitude for you You are so beautiful oo-ah So beautiful (x 4) You always saw the truth inside of me When there was not much left to see And told me you would be for me Everything I could not be And as I watch you sleeping now My soul is full of gratitude Gratitude for you You are so beautiful oo-ah So beautiful (x 4) When all the noise and hate It all becomes too much You land beside me like an angel Of compassion for the world Your love has set me free No words describe my gratitude Gratitude for you You are so beautiful oo-ah So beautiful (x 8)

Little Johnny was a gambling man Gambling his people on an evil plan Sitting at the table with old uncle sam Peddling a lie, a joke, a scam Little Johnny was a pale faced man Born and raised on stolen land Fed by destructions ugly hand He joined the club and he took command Little Johnny's playing with the big boys now Don't ask me why. don't ask me how Little Johnny's got us going to war He's opening the door to 1954 Little Johnny he's a really swell guy Helping us to open up a hole in the sky Sitting under a bush at the top of the hill Little Johnny's been feeding on American pie Little Johnny's people are all over this land Handing out the blindfolds so we couldn't give a damn Well little Johnny I don't understand And I don't want to be an American Little Johnny's playing with the big boys now Don't ask me why. don't ask me how Little Johnny's got us going to war He's opening the door to 1944 Little Johnny he's a sorry little man But he just couldn't say the words that millions can No he just doesn't;t feel it, even though we do Little Johnny we are bigger than you Little Johnny's playing with the big boys now Don't ask me why. don't ask me how Little Johnny's got us going to war He's opening the door to 1854 Little Johnny was a gambling man Gambling his people on an evil plan Sitting at the table with old uncle sam Peddling a lie, a joke, a scam Little Johnny was a pale faced man Born and raised on stolen land Fed by destructions ugly hand He joined the club and he took command Little Johnny's playing with the big boys now Don't ask me why. don't ask me how Little Johnny's got us going to war He's opening the door to 1954 He's opening the door to 1934 He's opening the door to 1854

Stone Wall 03:42
All your life you've been trying to climb A cold stone wall A woman's love is there to catch Every time you fall But not today, adjust the noose A woman's love has cut you loose A child is born, a woman's scorn The lonely sons be warned All your love flows into the cracks of an old wooden floor You walk the stairs to find that exit marks the basement door But right on time you hear the tune A woman's love is coming soon And unaffected you return to the place Where all things must be learned And you sing And you dream And you live And you try to climb that cold stone wall And you breath And you hurt While your trying not to fall And you dream And you bleed And you try to climb that cold stone wall And you live And you hurt Don't fall All your dreams are the secrets you leave In a little black bag that you keep up your sleeve You can still see the lights but the curtains are drawn You remember the place where your children were born And still you see the figures dancing In the distance, on the hill And all you find, the more that you climb You've slowly lost your dancing will And you sing And you dream And you live And you try to climb that cold stone wall And you breath And you hurt While your trying not to fall And you dream And you bleed And you try to climb that cold stone wall And you live And you hurt While you climb that cold stone wall And you dream And you live Don't fall..

I would give you my whole life Just for one taste of that sweet, sweet rain Don't even know what I'm chasing I only know that I'm running away All my friends Are dirty dreamers They walk in circles Like true believers I looked out into the faces Trying to find every hint of approval And wanting to give but just waiting, and taking And secretly knowing the fools are all faking All my friends Are dirty dreamers They walk in circles Like true believers All my friends Are dirty dreamers They fly in circles Like true sky screamers Lead us down to the ocean Take our souls on a ship in the night time And make us believe everything is alright Cos we only can live till the end of our lives Confusion is everywhere Hiding in buildings of concrete and glass Behind every knowing and beautiful glance Under the clothes of the composting ants Lead us down to the ocean Take our souls on a ship in the night time And make us believe everything is alright Cos we only can live till the end of our lives I would give you my whole life Just for the feeling of being alive Just for the feeling of needing one more Just for acceptance and just for release All my friends Are dirty dreamers They walk in circles Like true believers Lead us down to the ocean Take our souls on a ship in the night time And make us believe everything is alright Cos we only can live till the end of our lives

about

The second part of the double album "All the Pieces", has a laid back, acoustic flavour. It opens with possibly Jimmi's most popular song with audiences, "Black Feathers". It came out while the Howard government was still in power and features the political track "Gambling Man".
Like the other disc of the album, it has a stripped back, 'down home' feel.
